How to Find the Model Number on an Apple Laptop

The easiest way to confirm the model number of your Apple laptop is to turn it over. This will be part of the fine print on the top of the case. If you still have it, it can also be found on the original packaging. Alternatively, you can find it at Systems report. Here are the steps to get there:

  1. Click on Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. choose About this Mac.
  3. Click More…
  4. Scroll down in the new window and click System report.
  5. The model number will be displayed next to it Model identifier.

How to Find the Model Number on a Dell Laptop

As with Apple laptops, the easiest way to find your Dell model number is to find it on the laptop packaging or identification label. The identification label can be found in various places. If you’re having trouble finding it, try the following locations:

  • On the bottom cover, base or back of the laptop
  • Battery compartment
  • Screen, keyboard frame or palm rest

The model number of your HP laptop is usually located on the side, back or top of the laptop case. It can also be found under the battery. Here’s how to get it via System information:

  1. press Windows + R keys together to open the Run command window.

  3. In the Run command line type msinfo32then click Alright.
