Man’s ‘Genius’ Way To Charge Smartwatch While Wearing It Goes Viral

A video of a man’s unusual way of charging his Apple Watch has gone viral on TikTok.

The clip was posted by @lil_ninski99 and has had more than 797,000 views since it was shared on April 21.

A voice in the clip says, “My boyfriend’s Apple Watch is charging on his wrist.” The video shows a man wearing an Apple Watch, which shows the time and a charging sign on its screen.

“Why is it filling up on your wrist, honey?” the voice asks before saying, “Show me your mechanism.”

A hand is later seen lifting up the sleeve of the man’s shirt, which shows a charging cable extending from the watch and “going all the way up his shirt,” as a voiceover noted in the video. The man is shown flashing a thumbs up at the camera before the video ends.

The caption shared with the post reads: “That’s actually pretty clever, he said he doesn’t mind.”

As creative as the man’s charging system is, Apple’s website advises that you place your charger or charging cable on a “flat surface” and “in a well-ventilated area.”

“You can charge your Apple Watch in a flat position with the band open or on your side,” the company says.

The announcement comes as the global smartwatch market, valued at $30,434.1 million in 2021, is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 8.2 percent from 2022 to 2030, according to a report by Grand View Research. market research and consulting companies. based in San Francisco.

“The market is expected to witness an increase in adoption owing to the increasing preference for fitness tracking and health monitoring,” the report said.

Apple Watch has been found to be the leader in the US market for smartwatches and fitness trackers, according to a 2021 global consumer survey conducted by Statista, a market research and data platform. Nearly half of consumers who said they own one of the two devices said they have an Apple Watch, followed by Fitbit and Samsung, the survey found.

‘Pretty clever’

TikTok users were impressed with the Apple Watch hack in a viral post.

User chase wrote, “That’s genius,” and XIII said, “That’s actually pretty clever.”

User @emsadventures95 wrote: “That’s such a good idea, works so fast while hiking.”

TeccaN9na remarked, “How many times have I forgotten the watch on the charger when I run out the door to go to work. This is so smart lol.”

Others were less convinced, like Shiva who asked, “Why? The hour could last for 2 days.”
