If you’re looking for a vlogging camera under $1,000, the Sony ZV-E10 is the best option on the market. Without a viewfinder, with a fully movable screen and a built-in microphone for vlogging, it is designed specifically for vlogging. On top of that, it’s beautiful and portable, and its APS-C sensor captures high-quality photos and 4k video at up to 30 fps. It also comes with handy vlog-oriented features such as a ‘Product Showcase’ mode that prioritizes focus on objects held in the frame.
Still, if you don’t need interchangeable lenses, the compact Sony ZV-1 is a point-and-shoot cousin to the ZV-E10, priced around the same. It uses a smaller sensor, so you won’t get as much dynamic range, and its fixed lens is a bit more limiting. In addition, battery life is naturally worse. However, it’s a great alternative if you want an all-in-one camera. If you prefer a wider angle of view, the newer Sony ZV-1 II has an updated lens, but will cost you a bit more and lacks optical stabilization.
