It’s safe to say we’ve come a long way with technology – and one woman claims she was able to catch her partner cheating on her thanks to his fitness watch.

Finding out your partner has been unfaithful is never nice, but for Megan McGee, it was the most brutal thing possible when she found out thanks to an unusual pattern on his fitness tracker.

Fitness trackers are a great way for people to track their workouts, and Megan’s husband used a particular running tracker to track his progress, but it’s this data that she claims helped her realize his infidelity.

Megan took to TikTok to share the discovery. She claimed that her husband, who works in the military, would always stop or pause his run when he passed the house of a colleague – a woman he was sometimes deployed with while serving. She then admitted that she always had a “weird feeling” about the pair.

“I was studying his run map on the exercise app Strava and realized that he ran through, stopped around or ended up at the address where another army girlfriend lived. Their relationship has always given me a strange feeling and they were deployed together. Discovering these maps was a clue that confirmed my suspicions about their relationship – and the rest is history.

“What I found in the end [his] Running Maps was that he would start his ‘race’ at our house and finish it at her house. She lived probably half a mile away.”

Strava is a social media fitness app where running enthusiasts can track, record and share their running route and progress with their friends. It records and maps where the run took place as well as the duration of the run and is a fun way for people to compete with their friends and family.

While this can’t be definitive proof that her husband was having an affair – it certainly made Megan raise an eyebrow at what her husband was up to while on the run. She added: “Although this didn’t tell me the whole story, it certainly gave me a lot of certainty about who he was cheating on me with and what he was doing all that time he was gone.”

However, it must have been enough for Megan to end the marriage as she referred to him as her “ex-husband” in her story. People were quick to comment on the revelations, with one TikToker saying, “Everyone is getting ready to make their Strava private.”

While others shared their unique ways they discovered their partner had been unfaithful. One person shared: “I found mine because of Alexa. I found a drunken grocery list at midnight with her laughing at his mispronunciations while she was in my home,” while another added: “I found out through our grocery app. I saw that he made purchases of things that we did not have in the store or were near our home.”
